For those of you who have not had the fortunate to try a piece German chocolate cake recently, this is a great way to experience the flavor without getting any of the calories. German chocolate cake is a layered cake filled and topped with a coconut-pecan frosting. Traditionally sweet baking chocolate is used for the chocolate flavor in the actual cake. The robust filling and topping is a caramel made with egg yolks and evaporated milk. Once the caramel is cooked, coconut and pecans are stirred into the mixture. Finally, rich chocolate frosting is spread around the sides of the cake to hold in the filling.

This 8 x 8 Smoke muslin is designed for use with the On-Site Portable Background System. Calumet hand-painted muslin backgrounds are constructed from 100% cotton muslin. The muslins are sun dried, making them lightfast and will not fade over time. Each muslin comes with it s own carrying bag. Random wrinkle patterns on the backgrounds can produce pleasing photographic results. To achieve this affects, unfold the muslin and stuff it back into the background bag for several hours or overnight. If a smooth background is preferred the muslin can be steamed or ironed. Since they contain acrylic paints we do not recommend washing. If it is absolutely necessary to wash your muslin, we recommend hand washing. (Be sure to wash the muslin separately the first time, as some color may run off during the first wash.) Note: This muslin is not flame retardant. (Although every effort is made to ensure consistency of colors and patterns of these products, due to the individual nature of their manufacturing processes, some variances may occur. Please also note that the sample segments shown here represent only a small section of each background.)
